Diane Schrader

Director, Employee Engagement and Communications

Diane oversees Employee Engagement and Communications, which encompasses the Employee Gateway, the portal for faculty and staff that she was responsible for establishing in 2013; all-staff communications; and employee video production. She also oversees the university’s employee engagement programs and events, reward and recognition programs, and university-wide surveys including Great Colleges to Work For and the annual Staff Pulse Survey. In addition, Diane oversees university policy. Diane’s department is responsible for providing communication oversight to the division which includes many employee-related websites and communication efforts.

Prior to coming to USC in 2008, she produced syndicated features for television news, worked as a freelance writer, editor and publicist, and hosted a weekly radio show. She started her career in TV news at KTLA and KNBC in Los Angeles after graduating from USC with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and sociology. All three of her children are recent USC graduates. Diane is based in the Dallas, TX area.
